I love the picture submitted by Robin at http://www.pensieve.typepad.com/ for this week's 40 or Less Photo Challenge. It's so neat and heartwarming. Click on Robin's link to get all of the details, but it's as simple as looking at the picture, saying in 40 words or less what you think of it, and then submitting your thoughts. It's fun. Join us every Friday. Click on the link above to see what others think of the photo. Look for the 40 PC icon. Meanwhile here's what I have to say about the picture below:
"The time has come," the walrus said, "to talk of many things: of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax--of cabbages--and kings--and why the sea is boiling hot--and whether pigs have wings." (Lewis Carroll)
I envisioned Granpa stopping by the wayside and telling his granddaughter fanciful stories. The picture reminded me of Lewis Carroll's quote of storytelling above. I used to quote this to my daughter all of the time, before her story time.
Have a fun Friday!

Love it! I'm sure that's exactly what he's saying!
Oh, Peculiar--what a wonderful storytime tradition! You nailed this perfectly :). Just think, when your daughter is a mom, she'll probably do the same thing because of YOU!
I can almost "hear" him saying this to her.
(BTW, have you ever seen this statue outside Rembrandt's downtown???)
Lewis Carroll is a great story teller and you're right I'm sure this grandfather would do the same.
Oh, I adore this! The quote from Carroll truly does sum up storytime with grandpa. Bravo!
Well said!
My mother used to quote that passage to us, too. I always think of her whenever I hear it.
